The cancelled Nordic Combined COC in January was replaced this weekend in Klingenthal. As I already wrote in January there was no snow, but the temperatures got colder and it snowed, so they were able to prepare the hill and a cross country track. There have been there competitions in Klingenthal because they also replaced the cancelled COC in Planica one week before, because there was too much snow in Slovenia. So it already started on Friday with the first Individual Gundersen. I’ve missed this comp, because I started my journey to Klingenthal Friday afternoon. So I watched a Teamsprint on Saturday and another Individual Gundersen on Sunday. It was my first Nordic Combined COC and it was really worth the journey. I saw a lot of new faces, but also lots of well-known athletes. :) It really doesn’t matter if you go to a World Cup or a COC – it’s always exciting to watch a Nordic Combined competition! Here are the Top 3 of the three competitions in Klingenthal:
Friday, 07.02.2014 Ind. Gundersen
1. Wolfgang Bösl (GER)
2. Marco Pichlmayer (AUT)
3. Ole Martin Storlien (NOR)
Saturday, 08.02.2014 Teamsprint
1. Harald Lemmerer / Marco Pichlmayer (AUT)
2. Tobias Haug / Manuel Faißt (GER)
3. Philipp Blaurock / Wolfgang Bösl (GER)
Sunday, 09.02.2014
1. Sepp Schneider (AUT)
2. Marco Pichlmayer (AUT
3. Truls Johansen (NOR)
The photos from Saturday can be already found in the Nordic Combined section. I’m already working on the ones from Sunday, but I still need some time. I’m really busy at the moment and I’m already going to the next competition this weekend. Next stop will be the skijumping COC Brotterode!
